FCGR Computer Cluster | The HPC computational resources include a dedicated FCGR computer cluster in addition to use of the HPC provided by ITS at the University of Memphis. The FCGR hardware includes an HP c7000 blade system and six HP Gen8 blades attached to an HP D6000 with GlusterFS configured on four blade servers and an array of 3TB size SAS drives. A local private 10Gig network provides connectivity between the ROCKS/Galaxy cluster and the GlusterFS file system. Herbarium Collection | The University of Memphis Herbarium is a natural history collection consisting of nearly 20,000 plant specimens from scientific collections worldwide. Most of the accessions are vascular plants from the Southeastern US, with an emphasis on those of Tennessee and Kentucky. Orphaned for more than 30 years, the herbarium was revived in 2014 and is now accessioning new specimens. Current research is on the vascular plants of West Tennessee and the Lower Mississippi River Basin. International collection code MEM. Water on Wheels Mobile Unit | Water on Wheels (WOW) is the cornerstone education program at CAESER. WOW is a mobile water science museum that comes straight schools at a fraction of the cost and time. The exhibits are colorful and interactive, designed to enlighten and motivate visitors. Students learn about the water cycle, conservation, watersheds, our drinking water supply, water use around the world, stormwater systems and more. The WOW visits 4th grade students during the school day. Anechoic Chamber | 24’x24’x24’ Industrial Acoustics (IAC) anechoic chamber for precise acoustic and psychoacoustic testing. This facility is used for our auditory streaming/localization experiments. The room measures 1.5 stories within the Community Health Building. The inside chamber space is fully covered in Metadyne® acoustic wedges on its walls, ceiling, and (floating mesh) floor. A 36-channel circular array of Renkus-Heinz speakers is affixed to a pulley system that can be lowered to surround a participant seated in a swivel chair. A TDT RX8 Multi-I/O Processor coupled to 6 Focusrite and Ashley Ne8250 amplifiers with a RedNet Dante MADI interface are used to drive the multichannel speaker matrix. The machine also contains self-cleaning filters. The minimum exposure area is 250 mm x 250 mm with an exposure speed up to 7000 mm/s and a scanner position repeatability of < 11 ? rad.
