Profile

William P. (Pat) Travis earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Spring Hill College and a Master Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at the University of Alabama. He worked as a rehabilitation counselor with the State of Alabama Vocational Rehabilitation Services at Bryce State Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He completed a counseling internship at the Department of Psychiatry in the Harvard Medical School and subsequently earned his PhD in the Department of Counseling at the University of Alabama. He then served as a program psychologist and Director of the Rehabilitative Therapies at Bryce State Hospital. He then served as the Executive Director of the West Alabama Health Council, a federally funded regional Health Systems Agency. He then served as corporate vice president of hospital development at Community Psychiatric Centers and Psychiatric Institutes of America. He then served as corporate director of development at Marriott Senior Living Services, corporate vice president of development at ServiceMaster Senior Living Services and senior vice president of development at Co-operative Retirement Services of America.



Additional Information

He then became an associate professor of psychology at Victory University in Memphis, Tennessee. He is presently a clinical associate professor and unit coordinator of the Healthcare Leadership Program in the School of Health Studies at the University of Memphis.He was elected as President of the Faculty Senate for academic year 2022-2003.
