Profile

Dr. Matthew Martens received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2002. His primary research interests are in the area of addictive behaviors, sport psychology, and psychological assessment. He has received funding from multiple federal agencies for his work on preventing high-risk drinking among college students and has published numerous articles in journals such as Psychology of Addictive Behaviors, Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs, The Counseling Psychologist, Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment, and Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology.
