Profile
Luke Baumgartner joined the University of Memphis as an
Exercise, Sport & Movement Sciences Instructor in the School of Health
Studies in January 2018. Prior to this, he served in a wide range of roles in
the educational field as well as the health, wellness and fitness industries.
Luke has worked as a physical education teacher, athletic director, coach,
researcher, and exercise physiologist. He has held administrative positions and
senior level roles in a variety of sectors, including public schools,
universities, fitness centers, digital health startup, and private
contracts. As a young child, Luke learned a lot through movement and being
active. He played multiple sports from his early years, all the way through
college. Through his education and experiences,
he's developed a passion for teaching students and professionals, about the importance of exercise science in maximizing health and performance while minimizing injuries.
