Full Professor School of Social Work/Director Center for the Advancement of Youth Development (CAYD)
Engaged scholarship efforts include collaboration with community organizations to support family health and development. Training, mentoring, program design, and evaluation approaches primarily incorprate culturally-centered empowerment methods.
Adressing risk and protective factors associated with youth development happens via collaborations that promote the use of innovative culturally-centered group interventions. A major goal is to reduce risk for disparities inbehavioral health and incarceration outcomes among young African Americans.
