Informal Menoring Relationships:

Addo, J. (2006). Joyce Addo is a doctoral student at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center. I have mentored her in qualitative methodology for her dissertation research, including instrument development, data entry and analysis.

Pusch, B. (2003). Dr. Pusch is a former colleague from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. When I met Dr. Pusch he was engaged in doctoral studies at the Rehabilitation Institute in the Graduate School of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He had decided to use a qualitative research methodology for his dissertation but had no one with expertise in qualitative research methods on his committee. I directed Dr. Pusch to grounded theory methodologists and other literature in the field, reviewed and commented on his methodology chapter as well as his findings and discussion. Dr. Pusch's degree was conferred on April 11, 2003.

Axley, L. (2003). Dr. Axley is a fellow faculty member at the Loewenberg School of Nursing. Her dissertation chair suggested that she use scenarios as part of an investigator-constructed survey instrument. Dr. Axley requested my assistance with the development of scenario questions. I reviewed chapter 1-3 of her dissertation proposal, identified key concepts, and guided her in the construction of the survey scenarios. After she developed her instrument, I reviewed it for content and style. Dr. Axley's degree was conferred on April 22, 2003.
