       I am a generalist in the field of physical education.  Early in my career I taught at the secondary level in public schools in Minneapolis and Davenport, Iowa, for four years.  Since 1977, I have taught university undergraduate and graduate courses at four different universities.

      In addition to numerous physical activity courses, I have taught university sections of ACAD (orientation for freshmen) and courses in education to include: principles of teaching, interpersonal skills for educators, and the professional seminar for educational services majors.  Additionally, I have supervised interns in education.  Physical education and exercise science courses encompass numerous physical activity courses and courses that deal with methods, curriculum, history and philosophy, foundations, concepts of fitness and wellness, psychological aspects of sport and exercise, and the senior project.

       I do research in the area of oral history and presently achieve publications that reflect expertise in that realm.  Earlier publications reflect my training as a generalist in physical education.
