Profile
I am a professor in the department of Civil Engineering at University of Memphis. Before joining University of Memphis, I worked as a Research Assistant Professor at the National Center for Smart Growth Research and Education, University of Maryland College Park. I am involved with a number of national and state transportation projects from National Science Foubndation, Federal Highway Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Tennessee Department of Transportation, Maryland State Highway Administration, Maryland Department of Transportation, Michigan Department of Transportation. My work also interfaces with industry collaborations and some of the notable ones include work with, Federal Express, Ford Motor Company, Cummins, Wabash, and Caliper Corporation. My areas of interest include Mobility Management, Implcations of Emerging Technologies in Transportation, Travel Demand Modeling, Transportation Planning and Policy, Econometric Modeling, Transportation Economics and Finance. Currently I serve as the chair of the Mobility Management (AEP14) Committee of Transportation Research Board of National Academy of Scineces Engineering and Medicine (NASEM). In the past I served as the co-chair of Transportation Economics Committee (ABE20), member of Freight Transportation Economics and Regulation Committee (AT010) of the Transportation Research Board, and member of Transportation Economics Committee of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
